200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
A thoughtful, in-depth training for future yoga teachers
There are many yoga teacher trainings available today, so itβs important to find one that genuinely feels aligned with the kind of teacher (and person) you want to become.
The kind of teachers we hope to create
At The Basement Snug, our approach is rooted in creating thoughtful, well-rounded teachers who can confidently lead accessible classes for real people with real lives, bodies, and experiences.
We believe yoga is about much more than movement alone. Alongside postures and sequencing, we explore breathwork, meditation, philosophy, anatomy, nervous system support, and the wider principles that shape how yoga is practised and lived.
This training is practical, supportive, and intentionally small. No rushing through content. No performative teaching. Just real learning, thoughtful conversations, teaching practice, and the kind of support that helps people grow steadily over time.
We want to help create teachers who make students feel welcome, comfortable, and genuinely at home in their classes, because often, that feeling matters just as much as the teaching itself.
Is this training right for you?
Itβs ideal for:
Those wanting to become yoga teachers
Students wanting to deepen their own practice and understanding
Teachers looking for a more grounded, accessible approach to yoga

We recommend that students have at least 1-2 years of yoga experience before beginning the course.

How we teach
Our training groups are kept deliberately small, with a maximum of eight trainees per course.
That means thereβs space to ask questions, absorb slowly, practise properly, and develop your own authentic teaching voice.
Expect practical learning, lots of discussion, teaching practice, cups of tea, and support that continues beyond the training weekends themselves.
No standing anonymously at the back of the room.
No simply ticking boxes to gain a certificate.
Just thoughtful, supportive training rooted in care, depth, and real-world teaching.
