About The Basement Snug

A yoga space that feels like home.

The Basement Snug is an inviting yoga studio in the heart of Kenilworth, created for people looking for a more grounding, supportive, and real experience.

A calming space where you can move, breathe, and come back to yourself.

Alongside yoga classes, we offer workshops, private sessions, retreat days, and in-depth teacher training, all rooted in the same thoughtful, down-to-earth approach.

You’ll usually find the kettle on, blankets nearby, and someone remembering your name.

Meet Kerry, the heart behind The Snug

“The Snug was never built around perfect poses or packed-out classes. It was built around a feeling - the sense of walking into a space and immediately being able to exhale a little.

That feeling started for me when I discovered yoga at 18 after realising that high-impact exercise wasn’t leaving my body or mind feeling the way I wanted it to.

At first, I was drawn in by the physical side of the practice. But what kept me coming back was everything else. I slept better. My back pain eased. My nervous system finally felt a little calmer. Life felt more manageable somehow.

When I first trained as a teacher, I never actually planned to teach. I simply wanted to understand yoga more deeply. But somewhere along the way, teaching began to feel completely natural, like something I’d been moving towards all along.”

Why the Snug exists

“Since 2014, I’ve taught thousands of classes, completed more training than I can probably count (yoga teachers love learning), and grown my own family too - two boys, one dog, and usually a never-ending pile of washing.

The Basement Snug came from a long-held dream to create the kind of yoga space I always hoped to find myself. Not intimidating. Not performative. Not about squeezing as many mats into a room as possible.

Just somewhere warm, welcoming, and real. A space where people feel comfortable enough to slow down a little.

Whether you come for yoga, teacher training, or a well-being workshop, I hope The Snug feels like somewhere you can keep coming back to.”

The way we do things

At The Basement Snug, yoga is about much more than movement.

Our teaching draws on the wider practice of yoga too, including breathwork, meditation, awareness, and the principles that shape how we treat ourselves and others.

We believe in:

  • Practice over performance

  • Depth without intimidation

  • Real-life yoga for real people

  • Small groups and personal attention

  • Warmth, honesty, and being known

  • Spaces that feel steady, supportive, and human

We always honour yoga’s roots while teaching in a way that feels accessible, grounded, and relevant to modern life.

Meet the teachers

Every teacher at The Basement Snug has been chosen not just for their experience and knowledge, but for how they make people feel.

Our team brings different styles, specialisms, and personalities to the studio, but they all share the same approach: thoughtful teaching, genuine warmth, and yoga that feels welcoming, supportive, and rooted in real life.

No egos. No guru energy.

Just brilliant humans who care deeply about what they do.

Yoga, beyond the physical

We love movement, but yoga here isn’t treated as just another workout.

Our teaching draws on the wider system of yoga too, including breathwork, meditation, awareness, and the quieter practices that help people feel more connected to themselves and steadier in everyday life.

Because often, the biggest shifts happen slowly.
A deeper breath.
A calmer response.
A feeling of being a little more at home in yourself.
