Feel-good
experiences

More than just yoga classes

Alongside our regular timetable, The Basement Snug hosts a growing calendar of workshops and gatherings designed to help you slow down, try something new, meet like-minded people, and carve out a little space for yourself amongst the busyness of everyday life.

Some events are deeply restful.

Some are creative and playful.

Some are simply an excuse to drink tea, eat cake, and spend a few hours doing something that feels good for the soul.

From sound baths, restorative yoga, and meditation evenings to Coffee, Cake & Canvas, women’s circles, seasonal gatherings, family yoga, and specialist workshops for teachers, everything we offer is rooted in the same warm, welcoming atmosphere The Snug is known for.

Summer Yin & Yoga Nidra

The Details:

When: Friday, 17th July 2026

TIme: 19:15 - 20:45

Cost: £20/person

Join Jen for this 1.5-hour yin and Yoga Nidra class.

Yin Yoga weaves together the ancient wisdom of Hatha Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to offer a deeply nourishing practice of stillness, spaciousness, and surrender. Expect longer held postures compared to regular classes, with plenty of options and props available to suit all students, including complete beginners.

Paired with Yoga Nidra - the “yoga of sleep,” a guided meditation that invites you to rest in the peaceful space between wakefulness and sleep - this evening will provide an evening of deep nurturing and rest.

The Basement Snug has everything you need - mats, props, blankets - but if you would like to bring your own mat you are very welcome to.

Wearing comfy layers is good because its a slow practice so we won't be building up much heat.

Doors open 10 minutes before class.

Group Sound - Elevate your mind & state

The Details:

When: Friday, 24th July 2026

TIme: 18:30 - 19:45

Cost: £30/person

Led by Lisa Cressy

Superconscious Activation.

Guidance into a higher state.

This is a guided session designed to help you step out of the busy, overthinking mind and into a more expansive way of thinking and feeling.

Using a blend of voice, rhythmic drumming, gong and sound, you’ll be guided into a different state - one where things often feel clearer, ideas come more easily, and you can access a deeper sense of perspective.

What it is

A small group, in-person session where you’ll be lying down, eyes closed, simply following the guidance. There’s nothing to “do” and no experience needed - the combination of sound, rhythm and voice does the work of helping your mind shift.

How it works

The rhythm of the drum, the resonance of the gong and the use of guided voice help to quieten the usual mental noise. As your state changes, it becomes easier to move beyond the day-to-day thinking patterns and access a more intuitive, expansive level of awareness. It’s often in this state that ideas, clarity and new perspectives naturally come through.

What you may experience

A clearer head and a different perspective on things - New ideas or a way forward that hadn’t been obvious before - A stronger sense of intuition or “just knowing” - Feeling more open, present and connected

What to expect on the night

A relaxed, small group setting Guided throughout using voice, drumming, gong, sound and frequency Around 75 minutes in total You’ll leave feeling different to how you arrived - often clearer, lighter or with something new to take forward.

Seasonal Sound Bath - July

Seasonal Sound Bath - July

The Details:

When: Sunday, 5th July 2026

TIme: 18:00 - 19:00

Cost: £20/person

Led by Nicky Mason Wellbeing

This seasonal sound bath, held in midsummer, invites us to pause in the heart of the season.

As summer comes into full bloom, nature is even more abundant. Wildflower meadows are at their peak, full of cornflowers, poppies and daisies, while bees and butterflies hover from flower to flower, collecting pollen. Lavender fields fill the air with fragrance.

Sunflowers turn their faces to the light, dragonflies and damselflies skim over water, and the long days stretch into warm, golden evenings. Swifts fly overhead and, later, bats emerge at dusk.

The Buck Full Moon is a traditional sign of midsummer strength and growth.

As the brightness and pace of summer continue, this is an invitation to soften, ground, and find stillness amidst the bustle. It's a time to pause and notice what’s alive in you. Through guided relaxation and the resonance of sound healing instruments, we will align with the energy of the season, settle into the body, and receive the quiet clarity of wide summer skies and star-filled nights.

No experience needed, just come as you are and get comfortable.

While sound healing is generally gentle and supportive, it may not be suitable for everyone. This workshop is not recommended for those:

  • with sound-induced epilepsy

  • in the first trimester of pregnancy

  • experiencing certain severe mental health conditions

If you have any questions or are unsure whether this session is right for you, please don't hesitate to get in touch before booking.

You can contact Nicky at nickymason.wellbeing@gmail.com

Instructions

Mats, blankets, cushions and eye masks are provided. Please bring a bottle of water and anything else you need to feel cosy and comfortable.

Please arrive a few minutes early to get settled as we’ll start promptly at 6pm.
